Weekend crime round-up

Three burglaries were reported on Friday.

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:

• Friday – Three burglaries were reported.

These took place at addresses along Spitskop Avenue, in Leachville, Burns Street, in Dalpark, and Hamilton Avenue.

Television sets, tools, a camera and liquor were stolen.

• Saturday – A television set, a games console and a stove were stolen from a home along Sabie Avenue, Leachville.

A man was robbed of R300 at an address along Jones Avenue.

Five robbers entered the room in which the man was sleeping and took his wallet.

The incident occurred at about 5am.

Two cars were broken into.

In both incidents, the car’s radio was stolen.

The vehicles were parked at addresses along Kingsway Avenue and Kitzinger Avenue.

A man was robbed of his car keys, cellphone and wallet by two men at the corner of Voortrekker Road and High Street.

The man was returning to his vehicle at about 8pm, after buying something to eat at a nearby shop, when he was confronted by the pair, one of whom was armed with a knife.

A company in Stoffberg Avenue was burgled of three telephones, a laptop and a safe containing cash.

The burglars gained entry into the building through the roof.

• Sunday – A break-in took place at a home along Voortrekker Road.

Three cellphones and a tablet were stolen.
