UPDATE: Culpable homicide case is still under investigation

According to Brakpan police, no arrests have been made.

Brakpan police have denied that the driver of a red Mazda sedan was arrested on Saturday, last week, following a fatal accident in Brenthurst.

The accident took place at the corner of Prince George Avenue and Muir Street and resulted in the death of a four-year-old boy.

The child was struck by the car and killed.

The EMPD reported that the driver was arrested on charges of culpable homicide and reckless and negligent driving.

According to Capt Joep Joubert, spokesperson for the Brakpan Police Station commander, the case is still under investigation and no arrests have been made.
