
According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:
• Friday – An attempted burglary was reported at a business along Neutron Road, in Vulcania.
A security guard patrolling the premises happened across a gang of eight men inside a warehouse, at about 3am.
The guard called the SAPS and the men fled.
Nothing was stolen from the business.
A female homeowner was robbed in her Queen Avenue home, by robbers pretending to be interested in purchasing her property.
The homeowner had allowed the robbers, one of whom was a woman, into her house at about 11.55am.
The woman claimed they were there to view the property, which is for sale.
While showing them around the house, one of the robbers pointed a gun at the homeowner.
Her hands were bound with cables and she was robbed of her jewellery.
The robbers also took cash, a computer screen and a television set.
A car battery was stolen from a vehicle parked at an address along Muriel Brand Road, in Brenthurst.
A female motorist was robbed of her purse while stationary at a red traffic light at the corner of Station and Voortrekker roads.

The incident took place at about 9.15pm.
The robber, who was wearing a black, hooded top, approached the woman’s car and pointed a gun at her.
He demanded her purse, which she handed over.
The female driver of a maroon Volkswagen Golf was hijacked along Duncan Street, in Brenthurst, at about 9.30pm.
The woman and a friend had stopped at an address along the street when a white BMW parked behind them.
Four men, one of whom was armed with a gun, alighted the vehicle and approached the pair, telling them to “open up” the car.
The hijackers robbed the woman of her cellphone and handbag before fleeing in the Golf.
• Saturday – A green Mazda 323 was stolen from Bedford Street.
• Sunday – Two men and a woman attempted to steal a car parked at an address along Voortrekker Road.
The incident took place at about 1.42am.
The trio were disturbed and fled in a black Volkswagen Polo.
A Sonneveld family returning home from shopping at a mall in Bedfordview were robbed outside their Graaf Road home.
The wife noticed a silver Mercedes Benz had stopped behind them when they arrived home at about 1.30pm.
An armed man approached the vehicle and ordered the family to get out and lie on the ground.
They were robbed of jewellery, cash and personal documents.
