Ekurhuleni celebrates Customer Service Week

Celebrated from October 3 to 7 at all Customer Care Centres in Ekurhuleni.

Customer Service Week is an international celebration of the importance of customer service and of the people who serve and support customers on a daily basis.

It is celebrated annually in the first week of October when customer-oriented organisations and institutions around the world recognise the importance of Customer Service Excellence in their organisations.

This year’s Customer Service Week will be celebrated during the week of October 3 to 7 at all Customer Care Centres in Ekurhuleni.

Organisations and institutions that participate in Customer Service Week carry out special activities to highlight the importance of great customer experiences to the success of the organisation and reinforce a customer-focused culture.

“The key focus of the department is to build excellent customer relations that ensures the City delivers services that consistently exceed citizen’s expectations,” said Zukiswa Ntsikeni, Ekurhuleni head of department for customer relationship management.

“We need to ensure all citizens have information available on and at any time to resolve any service delivery request.

“As the metro we strive to put our customers first in all our operations.”

According to Ntsikeni, the purpose of the campaign is to boost morale of the employees, and motivate and encourage teamwork.

Customers are also reminded of the metro’s commitment to customer satisfaction and it’s a platform to enforce our Batho Pele principles.

This year’s celebrations will be finalised by recognising excellent performance within the department through the inaugural Customer Relationship Management Excellence Awards.
