Thieves steal circuit breakers

It didn’t take long for thieves to start stealing from the recently installed new meter enclosures.

The orange boxes, which were installed in September, can be found on distribution poles throughout most of Brakpan.

Brakpan police report that the boxes are being stripped of their circuit breakers.

Capt Peet van der Schyff, from the Brakpan SAPS, told the Herald a man and a woman have been seen breaking open the enclosures.

He urged residents to be on the lookout for the pair and to report tampering to police.
