Tsakane SAPS embark on substance abuse awareness campaign

Spreading the word about drug abuse.

A substance abuse awareness campaign took place in Geluksdal yesterday (Sunday).

Various stakeholders, including Samson Mmadi – a coordinator from the Gauteng Department of Community Safety – departed from the Tsakane Police Station at about 11am, and proceeded to Geluksdal.

“Tsakane SAPS role players who participated in the event were Vispol commander Lieut-Col Rajesh Ramlall,  sector managers, social crime prevention,communication, Vispol members, the CPF, Youth Desk and community safety officer, Daven van Wyk,” said Sgt Lerato Mngomezulu, spokesperson for the Tsakane SAPS.

The purpose of the campaign was to discourage the community from using drugs and to refrain from doing crime.

“The event went well and about 1 000 pamphlets were distributed; the community was addressed at the crime hotspots  identified by the CPF and sector manager WO Jonnyboy Mashale,”added Mngomezulu.
