Child gives up birthday presents to help Brakpan SPCA

Helping the animals.

Nathan Payne, a Grade Two learner at St Dunstan’s College, in Benoni, asked his friends to bring him cat and dog food for his birthday instead of presents, so he could donate it to the Brakpan SPCA.

Nathan, who celebrated his eighth birthday recently, also donated a sum of money to the society.

The SPCA wrote on its Facebook page: “A HUGE thank you from all the animals in the pound to Nathan and his friends at St Dunstan’s. YOU GUYS ROCK!!”
