The man broke a window and attempted to flee.

A man was arrested yesterday (Sunday) after he was caught inside a locked office at the Brakpan Police Station.

According to information received from the Brakpan SAPS, a data typist heard a noise in the locked room at around 6am and alerted a constable in the charge office.

The constable proceeded to the office, where he looked through a small window at the top of the door and saw a man searching the room.

When the officer confronted the man and told him to open the door, the man broke a window and attempted to flee.

The office is situated on the first floor and the man was unable to jump from the window.

He was then forced to open the door and was questioned by police.

The man was found in possession of bags of clothes, a laptop, a computer keyboard, a set of keys and other items.
