Daily crime watch

The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (August 7 to 8):

Cases reported:

• Theft of motor vehicle: 1
• Theft out of motor vehicle: 2 (one Boksburg case)
• Theft from motor vehicle: 1
• Sexual assault: 1
• House robbery: 1
• Fraud: 1
• Malicious damage to property: 1
• Housebreaking and theft: 1
• General theft: 2
• Assault GBH: 1

Arrests:

• Possession of hijacked motor vehicle: 3
• Robbery: 1

House robbery:

• A Leachville woman was robbed in her home along Klipspringer Avenue, yesterday (Monday).

The woman was awakened from a nap at around 11am by two robbers in her bedroom.

One of the robbers threatened her with a crowbar.

The robbers ransacked the house and fled with television sets, a CCTV monitor, jewellery, cash, cellphones and other valuables.

Burglary:

• Witpoortjie Street, in Rand Collieries.

The residence was burgled sometime over the weekend.

Stolen: A washing machine and a TV.

Theft of motor vehicle:

• A blue Toyota Tazz was stolen from the corner of Muir Avenue and Prince George Avenue, on Saturday.

Theft out of/from a motor vehicle:

• A car parked at an address along Witpoortjie Street, in Rand Collieries, was broken into and the radio stolen.

The theft occurred between Friday afternoon and Sunday morning.

• Tools were stolen from the back of a bakkie parked along Katdoring Street, in Dalpark.

The items were taken between 6pm on Friday and 3pm on Saturday.
