Daily crime watch

The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (August 15 to 16):

Cases reported:

• Theft of motor vehicle: 1
• Business burglary: 2
• Theft: 2
• Possession of drugs: 1
• Reckless driving: 1
• Crimen injuria: 1
• Attempted house robbery: 1
• Possession of stolen property: 1

Arrests:

• Assault GBH: 2
• Possession of drugs: 1
• Possession of stolen property: 2

Attempted house robbery:

• A Leachville resident was tied up by two would-be robbers in his home, yesterday (Tuesday).

The pair gained access to the house, situated along Waterval Road, at around 3.45pm and threatened the resident with a gun.

His hands were bound with cable ties and he was covered with a blanket.

The men fled empty-handed after the resident’s sister arrived at the house.

Burglary:

• Kitzinger Avenue (business).

The shop was burgled on Monday.

Stolen: Cash, jewellery, cigarettes, electronic goods, cold drinks, handbags and wallets.

• Denne Road, in Vulcania (business).

The break-in took place on Monday.

Stolen: A microwave, kettle, paint, two pairs of safety boots and tools.

Theft of motor vehicle:

• A Toyota Legend 45 bakkie (colour not provided) was stolen from an address along Louw Street, in Dalpark, on Sunday.
