The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (September 5 to 6):

Cases reported:

Hijacking:

The female driver of a silver/grey Ford Bantam bakkie was hijacked at the corner of Northdene Avenue and End Street.

The incident took place yesterday (Tuesday) at around 1.30pm.

The woman had halted at a stop sign, when a white BMW drove past her and stopped.

Two armed men alighted the vehicle and approached the victim.

She was told to get out of the bakkie.

The hijackers climbed in and drove off.

Business robbery:

  • A business in Dalpark Extension 13 was robbed by two armed men, yesterday.

The robbers walked into an office on the premises along Ouhout Circle at about 3.45pm and held a staff member at gunpoint.

Builders conducting renovations on the property and a workshop assistant were rounded up by the robbers and tied up.

The robbers fled with several sets of car keys, a cellphone and a wallet.

Two cars – a black Volkswagen Golf 5 GTI and a black Toyota Tazz – were also stolen.

Burglary:

  • Colliery Road, Sunair Park (business).

The workshop was burgled on Monday.

Stolen: Truck batteries.

  • Victoria Avenue

The home was broken into yesterday.

Stolen: A guitar and tools.

Theft of motor vehicle:

  • A man was robbed of his vehicle by a hoax buyer.

The car, a black BMW (model not provided), was collected at the Brakpan Taxi Rank, on Saturday.

The buyer failed to pay the funds into the victim’s account.

Theft out of/from a motor vehicle:

  • A jack and a disc cutter were stolen from a vehicle parked along Strauss Street, in Van Eck Park, on Monday.
