The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (October 9 to 10):

Cases reported:

• Reckless driving: 1

• Business burglary: 1
• Common robbery: 1
• Shoplifting: 1

Arrests:

• Possession of drugs: 1
• Shoplifting: 1
• Possession of stolen motor vehicle: 1

Common robbery:

• A woman was robbed of her handbag at the corner of Kingsway Avenue and High Street, yesterday (Monday).

The victim was walking to her car at around 3.35pm, when a man ran up to her and snatched the bag.

The bag contained a cellphone, purse, cosmetics, perfume and a pair of spectacles.

Burglary:

• Queen Avenue (business)

The break-in took place on Saturday.

Stolen: A laptop.

Theft of motor vehicle:

• A red CSR motorbike (model not provided) was stolen from an address along Tweedy Road, in Brenthurst, yesterday.
