Skeletal human remains found near Brakpan Dam

An inquest docket has been opened.

Brakpan police are investigating the discovery of skeletal remains in an area behind the Brakpan Dam.

According to the local SAPS, the skull and several bones were found by a passer-by yesterday (Sunday).

The area is frequented by traditional hunters and their dogs.

Items of clothing and a plastic bottle were found with the remains.

An inquest docket has been opened and police are awaiting the results of forensic tests.
