
• Friday – Two homes were burgled.
A TV and a laptop were stolen from an address along Crassila Road, in Minnebron, while a TV was stolen from a home in Tigerwood Avenue, Leachville.
* The driver of a bakkie (colour, make and model not provided) was hijacked by the occupants of a white Volkswagen Polo.
The victim was travelling along Heidelberg Road (R23) at around 9am, when the Polo drove past him and pulled in front of him, motioning for him to stop.
The Polo had a blue light and the victim pulled over, thinking it was the police.
Two “metros” alighted the Polo and approached the victim.
They told him to get out of the bakkie and check his rear lights.
As he reached the back, one of the men pointed a gun at him and told him to get into the Polo.
The other man then got into the bakkie and drove off.
The victim, whose face was covered with a a piece of black cloth, was driven to Soweto where he was forced out of the Polo and told to lie on the ground.
Before driving off, the hijacker threatened to shoot the victim if he looked at him.
* A business in Voortrekker Road was burgled of cash, two welding machines, a portable radio and other valuable goods.
* A white Big Boy scooter (model not provided) was stolen from Germains Avenue.
• Saturday – Two dogs at a home along Green Street, in Brenthurst, died after ingesting poison.
The home was burgled of a TV, sound system, computer equipment, jewellery, clothes and a microwave.
* A blue Ford Laser was stolen from Craigholm Street, in Dalview.
* An amplifier and several pairs of shoes were stolen from a residence in the Mkhankwa Village informal settlement, in Maryvlei.
• Sunday – A racing bicycle was stolen from a bakkie parked at Carnival City.
Other cases:
• Thursday – A car parked at an address along Hosking Street, in Brenthurst, was stripped of its wheels and tyres.
* Various household goods, including a TV, laptop, clothes and bedding, were stolen from a home in Strange Avenue.
* Paint was stolen from a business in Lemmer Road, Vulcania.
