Vigilant Dalview neighbour foils burglary

Three men arrested.

The actions of an observant Dalview resident resulted in the arrest of three suspected burglars this afternoon (Monday).

According to Capt Pearl van Staad, spokesperson for the Brakpan SAPS,the resident spotted a suspicious-looking car inside the yard of his neighbour’s home along Alexandria Avenue at around 12.45pm.

He also noted the gate was open.

“The community member alleged that his neighbour left the gate key with him and he was surprised when he noticed it was open,” said Van Staad.

“He drove to the gate to block it with his vehicle and immediately noticed three suspects in the yard.”

Brakpan police responded to the incident and three men, aged between 31 and 34, were arrested.

“All the arrested suspects are from Soweto,” said Van Staad, adding that they face charges of housebreaking.

The suspects’ vehicle, a white Toyota Tazz, was seized by police.
