Community members have until tomorrow (Saturday) to submit their proposals, as part of the city’s response to the influx of requests to restrict access to public roads.
It has also been noted that some roads within in the city are illegally closed and use extreme measures that also deny emergency services and police entry.
Proposals from all stakeholders should consider:
• Methods that can be implemented without infringing one’s right to freedom of movement but equally ensuring the safety and security of residents;
• Different ways to promote mobility, integration, social inclusiveness and township functionality;
• Reduce unnecessary long travelling distances caused by road closures.
Proposals and presentations must be emailed to Dora.Mogale@ekurhuleni.gov.za and mkncivil@polka.co.za
