Daily crime watch

The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (February 19 to 20):

Cases reported:

• Theft of motor vehicle: 1
• Robbery with other weapon: 1
• Common assault: 1
• Theft out of motor vehicle: 1
• Theft: 9
• Malicious damage to property: 1
• Intimidation: 1
• Possession of drugs: 4

Arrests:

• Assault GBH: 1
• Possession of drugs: 4
• Attempted rape: 1

Armed robbery:

• A man was robbed of his jewellery and firearm along Station Road yesterday (Monday).

The victim experienced car trouble and parked his vehicle on the side of the road at around 7.45am.

He got out of the car and was approached by three males, one of whom was armed with a knife.

The man held the knife to the man’s neck while the others searched him.

The trio fled with the victim’s bracelet, wristwatch, wedding ring and a revolver with five rounds.

Theft of motor vehicle:

• A Venter trailer containing fishing equipment was stolen from an address along Willey Street in Dalview on Sunday.

Theft out of motor vehicle:

• On Saturday, a wallet, cellphone and other items were stolen from a car parked along Gardiner Avenue.
