Brakpan police sweep the boards

Local police station makes town proud.

The Brakpan Police Station has been named as the best in the Ekurhuleni Central Cluster.

The station and hard-working Brakpan SAPS members were awarded and recognised at the recent Ekurhuleni Central Cluster 2018 Prestige Awards.

The function was held at Carnival City on Wednesday, last week, and saw members of the SAPS honoured in several categories.

Capt Peet van der Schyff and Beulah Senekal from the Brakpan Crime Information Management Analysis Centre were the first runners-up in the Crime Intelligence Group of the Year category.

The Ekurhuleni Central Cluster comprises 11 police stations: Brakpan, Boksburg, Boksburg North, Reiger Park, Benoni, Dawn Park, Crystal Park, Actonville, Putfontein, Daveyton and Etwatwa police stations.

Brakpan walked off with the most coveted prize of the day – the Best Station of the Year Award – and had victors in many other categories, including:

• Administration Employee of the Year (level one to four): Miriam Nkosi from Brakpan admin was the winner.

Handyman David Mulaudzi was the first runner-up in this category.

• Administration Employee of the Year (level five to seven): Capt Lorraine Hunt from Brakpan Loss Management was the first runner-up.

• Administration Group of the Year: Narina McKeever, Renette Pretorius and Nonhlanhla Chauke from the Brakpan Information Management Centre were the winners.

Second runners-up in the Vispol Group of the Year category were Brakpan Trio Task Team members (from left): Const Elwin Davis, WO Sonja Roos, WO Jan Roos and Const Jacques Vivier.

Brakpan Human Resources Management bagged the first runner-up title.

• Vispol Employee of the Year (level eight to 12): Lieut Col Ramolifi Pailane from Brakpan Operational Support was the second runner-up.

• Vispol Group of the Year: WO Jan Roos, WO Sonja Roos, Const Elwin Davis and Const Jacques Vivier from the Brakpan Trio Task Team were the second runners-up.

• Crime Intelligence Group of the Year: Capt Peet van der Schyff and Beulah Senekal from the Brakpan Crime Information Management Analysis Centre were the first runners-up.

• Best Performing Disabled Person of the Year: Jeanetta Jansen van Vuuren from Brakpan Loss Management was the winner.
