The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (September 10 to 11):

Cases reported:

• Common robbery: 2
• Theft out of motor vehicle: 1 (Johannesburg case)
• Robbery with other weapon: 1
• Inquest: 2
• Possession of drugs: 3
• Contempt of court: 1
• Business burglary: 1
• Theft: 1
• Robbery with firearm: 1 (Johannesburg case)
• Selling liquor without a licence: 1

Arrests:

• Fraud: 1
• Possession of drugs: 3
• Shoplifting: 1
• Contempt of court: 1
• Selling liquor without a licence: 2
• Assault GBH: 1

Armed robbery:

• A man was attacked and robbed along Graaf Street in Sonneveld last night (Monday).

Three men travelling in a white Ford Bantam Bakkie confronted the victim as he was walking home at 8pm.

The victim was struck with a spanner and robbed of his backpack, which contained cash and bank cards.

Common robbery:

• A man was assaulted and robbed of his cellphone and other valuables following an altercation with a man known to him.

The incident took place at an address along Station Road at 4.30pm on Sunday.

• A woman was robbed of her handbag at the corner of Park Street and Victoria Avenue yesterday.

A lone thief confronted the woman at 6am and demanded the bag, which contained cash, a cellphone and pair of spectacles.

Burglary:

• Northdene Avenue (business).

The burglary occurred on Saturday.

Stolen: Cash, solar batteries and electric cables.

• Dabchick Street, Dalpark.

The break-in took place on Sunday.

Stolen: Garden furniture and tools.

• Hamilton Street.

The home was burgled yesterday.

Stolen: Cash, a cellphone, handbag and portable radio.
