Brakpan beauty takes home the crown
Simone believes a woman can achieve anything she sets her mind to.
The newly crowned Mrs Gauteng 2019 hails from Brakpan.
Simone Myburgh (36), from Geluksdal, bagged the title at a glittering ceremony held in Centurion on November 17.
Through the RoleModels Foundation, the Mrs Gauteng pageant empowers disadvantaged communities through education and skills development, and caring for children, abused women and the elderly.
They aim to intervene in impoverished communities and to help fight poverty through hosting pageants as a means of raising funds for their charity organisations such as Imfundo Educare Pre-School, Asante-Neo Life Project (a home for abused women and children) and Tamkhulu Project (for senior citizens).
The sophisticated brunette is a mother of two boys and has been married to husband Enver Myburgh for 14 years.

Simone modelled as a child and teenager.
In 2017, she entered Mrs South Africa and made it to the top 100, where her passion for modelling developed again.
Today she teaches modelling and grooming skills to young girls in her community on a part-time basis.
The local beauty loves watching movies with her family, working in her garden, reading and uplifting the community.
Simone is thrilled about winning the title and believes a woman can achieve anything she sets her mind to.
“It felt so amazing to be announced as Mrs Gauteng 2019; I want to use this title as a positive change in our community and voice my concerns to the youth to stay away from substance abuse and to push harder to achieve their goals,” she said.
“I want to inspire hope from within that they matter, irrespective of their circumstances, as all things are possible through God.”
