Woman nabbed for drugs

The woman was detained at the Brakpan Police Station on charges of possession and dealing in narcotics.

A woman suspected of being a drug dealer was arrested by members of the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit in Brakpan yesterday (Sunday).

Acting on a tip-off, the officers proceeded to an address along Currey Street and found the 43-year-old woman in possession of narcotics.

The drugs have an estimated street value of R2 500.

“On raiding the house, the Drug Enforcement Unit members came across three mandrax tablets, seven half mandrax tablets, six quarter mandrax tablets, 15 ziplocks bags of dagga, as well as three packets of dagga,” said EMPD spokesperson Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago.

The woman was detained at the Brakpan Police Station on charges of possession and dealing in narcotics.

She is expected to appear in the Brakpan Magistrate’s Court today.
