Truck and car collide leaving one dead, another injured

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.

One woman was killed and another injured following a collision between a truck and a car along the N12 highway near Denne Road in Brakpan on Friday evening.

ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene at 6.30pm and found the vehicles on the side of the road.

Debris from the truck was spread across the entire road.

“Upon closer inspection, paramedics discovered the body of a woman lying a short distance away from the vehicle,” said ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring.

“Assessment showed that the woman had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life.

“Nothing could be done for her and she was declared dead.”

The driver of the truck was assessed and was found to have sustained injuries to both his hands.

He was treated for his injuries and thereafter transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

The driver of the car was assessed and found to have escaped injury.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
