According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (April 3 to 4):

Cases reported:

• Reckless driving: 2
• Theft of motor vehicle: 1
• Common robbery: 1
• Contravention of Immigration Act: 1
• Speeding: 9
• Theft: 1
• Fraud: 1
• Common assault: 1

Arrests:

• Speeding: 9
• Reckless driving: 1
• Illegal immigrant: 1

Common robbery:

• A man was stabbed and robbed by a group of four men after withdrawing cash from an ATM in the CBD.

The incident took place on Sunday around 3.30pm.

Returning home, the victim and a friend were walking along High Street when they were confronted by the gang and attacked.

The victim was stabbed in the arm with a screwdriver and the robbers fled with a large sum of money.

One of the attackers is known to the victim.

Theft of motor vehicle:

• A silver Toyota Avanza was stolen from Carnival City on Tuesday.
