Daily crime watch

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (April 24 to 25):

Cases reported:

• Theft of motor vehicle: 1
• Theft: 5
• Robbery with firearm: 1
• Possession of drugs: 1
• Shoplifting: 1
• Reckless driving: 1
• Theft from motor vehicle: 1
• Inquest: 2
• Residential burglary: 1

Arrests:

• Possession of drugs: 1
• Theft: 1
• Shoplifting: 1

Armed robbery:

• A man was robbed at gunpoint along Heidelberg Road (R23), near Makro Carnival, after his car overheated and he was forced to pull over.

The incident took place yesterday (Wednesday) around 9.30am as the victim was attempting to fix his car.

A silver Toyota Yaris with two occupants pulled over and the victim was threatened with a gun.

The robbers fled with the victim’s cash.

Burglary:

• Voortrekker Road.

The break-in took place yesterday.

Stolen: A cellphone and a computer tablet.

Theft of motor vehicle:

• On Tuesday, a trailer was stolen from an address along Griqualand Street in Leachville.

A generator was also taken.

Theft from motor vehicle:

• Two vehicles parked at an address along Leeu Avenue in Leachville were broken into on Tuesday.

A car radio and a battery were stolen from one of the cars, while a radio, a tool box, personal documents and other valuables were stolen from the other.
