According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (May 13 to 14):

• Residential burglary: 3
• Use of motor vehicle without owner’s consent: 1
• Theft out of motor vehicle: 1
• Armed robbery: 1
• Common assault: 1
• Drunk driving: 1
• Inquest: 1
• Fraud: 1
• Theft of motor vehicle: 1
• Theft: 5
• Business burglary: 1
• Shoplifting: 2
• Theft from motor vehicle: 1

Arrests:

• Theft out of motor vehicle: 2

Armed robbery:

• A security guard patrolling the premises of a business along 13th Road in Vulcania was robbed of his personal belongings by four men on Sunday.

The incident took place around 7pm when the robbers confronted the victim at gunpoint and assaulted him.

They fled with the victim’s cellphone, tekkies, jacket and cash.

Burglary:

• Trollip Street, Brenthurst.

The break-in took place on Sunday.

Stolen: A laptop.

• Grey Avenue.

The home was burgled on Sunday.

Stolen: A TV.

• Greer Street, Maryvlei (business).

The burglary occurred on Friday.

Stolen: A welding machine, tools and other valuables.

• Boven Avenue, Leachville Extension Three.

The home was broken into yesterday (Monday).

Stolen: Cash and shoes.

Theft out of motor vehicle:

• Electronic equipment was stolen from a car parked along Germains Avenue on Friday.
