Weekend crime round-up

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:

• Friday – A home in Hendrik Street, Sunair Park, was broken into.

A door and security gate were forced open, but nothing was stolen.

* Batteries were stolen from a truck parked along Seventh Road in Witpoort Estates.

• Saturday – Gardening equipment and other valuables were stolen from a business along Van der Walt Road in Dalview.

* A home in Colliery Road, Sunair Park, was burgled of a TV.

• Sunday – A woman was raped by a taxi driver who picked her up along Voortrekker Road at about 6.35pm.

She was the only passenger in the taxi – a white Toyota Quantum.

Instead of driving to her destination, the driver stopped in the veld along Oval Road in Brakpan North and forced himself on the victim.

She was also robbed of her cellphone and money.

• Possession of drugs: 3
• Shoplifting: 1
• Drunk driving: 1
• Malicious damage to property: 1
• Speeding: 3
• Assault GBH: 3
• Assault GBH and armed robbery: 3
