Daily crime watch

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (July 31 to August 1):

Cases reported:

• Theft of motor vehicle: 2
• Theft out of motor vehicle: 1 (Boksburg case)
• Reckless driving: 1
• Common robbery: 1
• Theft: 2
• Fraud: 2
• Possession of drugs: 2
• Common assault: 1

Arrests:

• Shoplifting: 1
• Possession of drugs: 2
• Theft: 2
• Pedestrian on freeway: 1

Common robbery:

• A woman was robbed of her handbag by two men, yesterday (Wednesday).

The incident took place around 3pm at the corner of Prince George Avenue and Voortrekker Road.

The handbag contained money, a cellphone and other personal belongings.

Theft of motor vehicle:

• On Tuesday, a grey Volkswagen Polo was stolen from an address along Bentley Place in Kenleaf.

• A red Honda motorbike was stolen from Muir Street in Brenthurst, yesterday.
