Police appeal for information on murder
The investigation is ongoing and police are awaiting DNA test results.
It’s one of the most wonderful times of the year and for most people, Christmas is a time of joy and giving.
For the family and friends of Brakpan resident Clive Dawson, however, this past festive season was one of tremendous loss and sadness.
The body of the 51-year-old, who resided at the Park Hotel, was found on New Year’s Eve.
According to information received from Brakpan police, Dawson was reported missing after last being seen on Christmas Eve.
His body was discovered a few days later in the veld near State Mines Country Club in Brakpan North.

It is believed he was killed for his vehicle on December 26.
Dawson was reportedly stabbed and suffered a heavy blow to the head.
His car, a Volkswagen Polo, was tracked to an informal settlement near Stanger in KwaZulu-Natal where it had been sold for a meagre R5 000.
Three people known to Dawson were arrested.
Two of the suspects, a 32-year-old woman and a man (34) were released on January 6 after their case was not placed on the court roll.
The third suspect, a 23-year-old man, has since been sentenced in a case relating to a different theft matter and remains in custody at the Boksburg Prison.
He was the person last seen with Dawson before his disappearance.
The charges against him pertaining to Dawson are still under investigation and the case has been postponed to March 11.
The investigation is ongoing and police are awaiting DNA test results.
