Weekend crime round-up

A woman was robbed of her wedding ring at the corner of Voortrekker Road and High Street.

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:

• Friday – Diesel valued at over R7 000 was stolen from a business along Boundary Road.

The diesel was drained from vehicles parked at the address.

* A business in Springs Road, Rand Collieries, was broken into.

A bar fridge, a microwave, a sound system and other valuables were stolen.

* A woman was robbed of her wedding ring at the corner of Voortrekker Road and High Street.

The victim was returning to her car around 5.30pm when she was approached by a man armed with a knife who demanded her belongings.

The victim handed over her wedding ring and the robber ran off.

The piece of jewellery is valued at R93 000.

* A white Volkswagen Golf was stolen from Athlone Avenue in Dalview.

• Saturday – A woman was robbed at knifepoint while walking along New Kleinfontein Road in Leachville.

The incident took place at around 5.30pm.

Three men, one of whom was armed with a knife, confronted the victim and demanded her bag.

The bag contained a laptop, two cellphones and other valuables.

* A case of attempted murder was opened after an injured man was found along Nossob Street in Dalpark.

Police were called to a complex along the street at around 9.20pm after a resident found the man, who was bleeding profusely, in front of the complex.

The man was taken to the Far East Rand Hospital.

No further information was available at the time of publication.

• Sunday – A blue and silver Honda motorbike was stolen from an address along Prince George Avenue in Brenthurst.

* A home in Plain Street, Kenleaf, was burgled of four laptops and a TV.

* A bass guitar and a laptop were stolen from a vehicle parked along Rangeview Road in Dalpark Extension Six.

* A man was robbed of R40 and two bank cards by three women and two men.

The victim was walking along High Road at 6.15pm when he was attacked by the group.

During the commotion, the victim dropped his bag, which contained the money and bank cards, and one of the women picked it up.

His attackers then ran off.
