Greyling looks to play his sport and wants to keep improving.
“Next year February it will be three years of me playing golf,” he said.
He enjoyed playing in the qualifications.
“It was going well. The course is looking really good. We are privileged to play on a course that looks as good as this one,” said the 15-year-old.
The youngster has big dreams for his sport.
“I want to play professionally and maybe win the Masters one day,” said Greyling.
Speaking to him, it is evident that he follows his sport, especially when he is asked who his favourite player is.
“It was Jordan Spieth, but he fell off the bus a little bit so I don’t know, maybe now it’s Rory (McIlroy) or Dustin (Johnson),” he said with a smile.
Greyling got into the sport through his grandfather.
“He used to play a lot and then one day I just joined him and started playing. Every Friday, we came here and now I play every day,” he said.
Being a top player is clearly a priority for the youngster, as he talks about hard work.
“I practise every day,” he said.
Becoming a professional player is his goal.
“I would like to turn pro in maybe two or three years’ time. It won’t be too long,” he said.
The club selected 11 young players from the academy, run by club manager Kenneth Dube, for the tournaments that will take place in the Ekurhuleni region next year.
