Having worked at the local school wear and clothing store for almost four decades, Cliff was a well-known figure in the Brakpan community.

He was born in Boksburg on July 1, 1961, and spent the majority of his childhood in Brakpan, where his family resided.

Cliff was one of five children and the only son.

He attended Anzac Primary School and also briefly attended Martin Primary School in Boksburg.

His senior school years were spent at Welkom High School in the Free State.

Cliff was enlisted in the SANDF after school and was based on the Namibian border for little over a year, after which he became a vehicle instructor for two years.

He then returned to Brakpan, where he became a sales representative, conducting door-to-door sales.

Cliff joined Adno’s Outfitters as a sales rep and went on to become the store’s manager.

He worked for Adno’s for over 37 years.

Cliff is survived by his wife of more than 30 years, Cheryl Ann, his son, Jared, two stepsons, Gary and Bradley Curtis, and two grandchildren, Padraic and Brandon Bindon.

“My dad was a great man whom my family all loved and cherished. He loved spending time with his family, was always the centre of the party and had many family braais,” said Jared.

“My father’s nephews always referred to him as ‘Uncle Cliffy the Legend’.

“In the Brakpan community, he was well-known to those who bought school clothes over the years.”

The funeral service was held on February 10 at Sincere Funeral Services in Dalview.
