Football league gets green light
It will be interesting to see what kind of form the players will be in after not having played competitively since November 2019.
After a long wait, with many being uncertain of whether local clubs will get to play any football, the players will feel like their prayers have been answered.
The Easterns Local Football Association has announced the new season will go ahead, with matches kicking off in April.

Although the matches will be played with no spectators present and clubs will have to follow strict Covid-19 regulations, the clubs are pleased.
“We are very excited,” said Brakpan Spurs captain Jabulani Munemo.
He is looking forward to a good season which kicks off on April 10. The u-17 side starts a day later.
“We have a lot of new players. Only seven players are left from the last season we played in 2019. I’m excited as I think the new players are even better and will make us stronger,” said Munemo.
While the teams have not played competitively since 2019, the Spurs practised towards the end of last year before lockdown levels were changed to level three in December. They were then allowed to start training again on January 8.
Munemo and his teammates are now waiting for the fixture list which is expected over the next week.
While the training would have helped, it will be interesting to see what kind of form the players will be in after not having played competitively since November 2019.
