Firefighters commended for quick response
I feel these two dedicated emergency workers need a big shout-out.
Resident from Alan Woodrow Park writes:
This is a big thank you to the fire department for their excellent response to a field fire on April 23.
The fire in Rangeview Road during the afternoon caused a lot of smoke, which posed a risk to motorists.
I contacted the fire department and a firefighter with a smaller fire engine arrived shortly after my call.
The female firefighter worked non-stop and at some stage was putting the fire out by hand until a larger fire engine arrived.

The two firefighters conducted their duties professionally and put the fire out in no time.
The emergency vehicles were parked close to my house and once they were done the onlookers who gathered gave them a well-deserved round of applause.
The appreciation on their faces was heart-warming. I feel these two dedicated emergency workers need a big shout-out.
