Tennis players get back into the swing of things
Due to the pandemic, however, the tournament was postponed and the format changed to a regional interprovincial tournament.
Laerskool Dalview learners Jessica Jenkinson and Carmen Delport were among the players from the Gauteng East Interprovincial Tennis teams who recently participated in the South African Primary and High Schools Tournament.
The u-13, u-15 and u-19 teams were selected to participate in the tournament in March.
Due to the pandemic, however, the tournament was postponed to August 7 and 8, and the format changed to a regional interprovincial tournament.
The results were:
First – Gauteng Central
Second – KwaZulu-Natal
Third – Gauteng North
Fourth – Gauteng East
Free State withdrew.
The u-13s played at Ellis Park, the u-15s at LC de Villiers at Tukkies in Pretoria and the u-19s played at Groenkloof Stadium in Pretoria.
