The search for missing 52-year-old Brakpan resident Mark Weyers has ended in tragedy.

After a search by family, friends and members of the community, his body was found in Brakpan yesterday (Wednesday).

The location where his body was found is not being disclosed as requested by his family.

Weyers left his Stoffberg Avenue home on Friday morning to visit the Far East Rand Hospital.

He reportedly spoke to a friend later and explained he still had to go for a scan. Weyers had not been seen or heard from since.

Brakpan police confirmed an inquest docket has been opened.
