A carefree evening for three brothers turned into a nightmare when they were hijacked by two men last Thursday evening.
The incident took place at the corner of Kunyamane Ranyaoa Road (formerly Goods Road) and Kitzinger Avenue at around 19:30.
According to information received from Brakpan SAPS, the siblings were sitting in a white Jeep owned by one of the brothers and listened to music when they were approached by two men.
One of the men shouted ‘hey wena’ and fired a shot on the ground. The gunman instructed the driver to start the vehicle and was then forced into the passenger seat.
The hijackers got into the vehicle and drove off with the brothers. During the journey, one of the brothers jumped from the moving vehicle.
It is unclear where the other victims were dropped off. A case of hijacking was opened at the Brakpan Police Station.
The stolen Jeep is uninsured.
