Wrestling club continues to dominate
All the wrestlers from Brakpan were selected for the Ekurhuleni team that will compete at the South African Championships in Pretoria next month.
Brakpan Wrestling Club has a tradition of producing top-class athletes and it does not look like it is going to change.
The club’s junior wrestlers competed at the Ekurhuleni Medals Championships in Alberton on Saturday. The youngsters impressed in a manner that has become synonymous with Brakpan.
All the wrestlers from Brakpan were selected for the Ekurhuleni team that will compete at the South African Championships in Pretoria next month.
Girls Chemike Visser, Tenieke Erasmus and Lea van Wyk were all selected for the Ekurhuleni squad.
Brakpan had seven boys competing in Alberton and they were all selected to represent Ekurhuleni. Tey are Avril Jansen, Sion Erasmus, Dewald Oeschger, Jevon van Wyk, AJ Oeschger, Willie Pieterse and Okkie Roos.
