Fund-raiser for Macayla Coetzee postponed

Due to the weather forecast prediction of rain for the weekend, as well the fourth wave of Covid-19, the organisers have decided to postpone and reschedule.

The fund-raiser for four-year-old Macayla Coetzee, due to take place at the Minnebron Shopping Centre on December 11, has been postponed.

The Brakpan girl recently completed a six-month course of chemotherapy after she was diagnosed with acute lymphoma leukaemia in December last year.

Due to the weather forecast prediction of rain for the weekend, as well the fourth wave of Covid-19, the organisers have decided to postpone and reschedule.

“We are looking at rescheduling for February, with the date still to be confirmed, and hopefully this continuous rain will have passed,” said Riaan van Zyl, Freedom Front Plus PR councillor in the City of Ekurhuleni.

“I will, in the interim, hold an online WhatsApp auction during the course of next week to raise funds for her. All proceeds will go directly to Macayla. Our aim is to continue supporting Macayla for as long as we can.”

Van Zyl may be contacted on 081 060 5329.
