Weekend crime round-up
A woman working at a Voortrekker Road shop was threatened at gunpoint and robbed of her laptop by a lone thief.
According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:
• Friday – A vehicle parked in Voortrekker Road was broken into.
A bag containing a driver’s licence, a wallet, cash and other valuables was stolen.
* A home in Walkden Street, Brakpan North, was burgled of two TVs, a cellphone and other household items.
* A radio and other sound equipment was stolen from a car parked along Derby Avenue.
• Saturday – A house robbery was reported at an address along Kitzinger Avenue.

• Sunday – A woman working at a Voortrekker Road shop was threatened at gunpoint and robbed of her laptop by a lone thief.
The man came into the store at 10:50 and asked to buy a cold drink.
The victim, who was working on the laptop, got up to fetch the beverage when the man grabbed the laptop and walked out of the shop.
When the woman pursued and confronted him, he pointed a gun at her and told her to shut up.
A case of armed robbery is under investigation.
* A container located on the premises of a business in Hospital Road, Brakpan North, was broken into.
Truck batteries, motor starters and copper cables were stolen.
