Members of the Brakpan SAPS Crime Prevention Unit arrested two people last Friday after a stolen car was recovered. One man was nabbed in Anzac and the other in Springs.
“Members recovered an Opel, which was stolen at OR Tambo, during the week,” said Brakpan SAPS spokesperson Capt Pearl van Staad.
“On March 18, members received a tip-off about a possible stolen motor vehicle in Anzac.
“All information led to the arrest of two suspects, aged 33 and 35.
“One suspect will be charged for possession of a stolen motor vehicle and the other for theft of a motor vehicle.”
She added that a preliminary investigation indicates the car’s registration plate was removed and replaced with a false one, as the disc and number plate did not correspond.
The arrested duo was expected to appear in court this week.
