Third clean audit for Ekurhuleni

“This is an achievement that has not come easy but is a result of many sleepless nights and long hours. We remain steadfast with our zero-tolerance approach to non-adherence to established supply chain processes.”

The City of Ekurhuleni received its third consecutive clean audit.

“It means that the financial statements do not contain material errors. It is a financially unqualified audit opinion, and there are no material findings on performance information and compliance with legislation,” said city manager Dr Imogen Mashazi.

In 2017, the city resolved that one of the administration’s cornerstones was running a clean, accountable and effective government.

Operation Clean Audit was introduced to monitor the implementation of the Auditor-General’s previous recommendations and establishing adequate systems for dealing with audit queries.
