Little swimmers make big splash

The Learn to Swim Gala not only promoted the sport but also a vital life skill.

Dalview’s Tadpole Swimming Academy hosted a Learn to Swim Gala on March 21 at the Boksburg North Pool.
Swimmers from 14 swimming schools across the East Rand also participated.

“We had 500 learners swim at our event. We are proud of our swimmers, although they are still learning. We encourage the introduction of competitive swimming in a safe manner,” said academy owner Christelle Radyn.

“All our teachers and staff swam with our children, and we had over 1 500 spectators. It was awesome to see Learn to Swim promoted.

“Our swim school has existed for 32 years, and I have never seen this much spirit to promote not only a sport but an important life skill.”
