Support group for women launched

The organisation hopes to reach more women at their next meeting in August.

Straightforward, a catering and events company, recently launched their ‘lean on me circles’ called Straightforward Sessions.

Their first session was held on May 13 to celebrate Mother’s Day at the Dalpark Ext 1 home of the owner and CEO, Khothatso Hlophe.

Fourteen women attended, networked and sought support and practical advice from other women in a safe space.

“They found a safe space to cry, to learn new ways of working toward healing past traumas, how to handle current challenges, and an opportunity to dress up and eat good food,” Hlophe said.

The sessions aimed to empower the women by allowing them to open up and make connections to support each other.

For the next session, planned for Women’s Day in August, Hlophe encouraged women who need support to join them.

For more information, contact Hlophe on 073 342 8635. Straightforward also does events and weddings.
