Residents urged to collect ID smart cards from Home Affairs
If you have applied, bring a proof of application as well as proof of identity. You have to make an appointment to collect.
The Department of Home Affairs in Brakpan has over 1 200 ID smart cards at their offices that need to be collected, some from as far back as 2016.
Members of the public who applied for but never collected their ID cards have to make an appointment to collect their card online at www.dha.gov.za and bring proof of identity and proof of application to their appointment.
Once you have made your appointment, you will be given a date and time anywhere from 08:00 to 15:30, Mondays to Fridays.
Proof of identity can be a driver’s licence, old ID document, passport or a birth certificate.
