Weekend crime round-up

An overview of crimes reported to local SAPS from February 2 to 4.

The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past weekend:

Friday – A pedestrian was robbed of his cellphone at the corner of Victoria Avenue and High Street at around 17:30.

The victim was confronted by two men, one of whom was armed with a gun, who told him not to move.

They took his cellphone and fled in an unidentified white vehicle, which was parked nearby.

• A TV and a digital video recorder were stolen during a burglary at a home in Nash Crescent, Sherwood Gardens.

• A trailer parked at an address along Germains Avenue was stripped of tyres and rims.

Saturday – A business along Hendrik Potgieter Road in Dalview was burgled of a TV, a microwave and other valuables.

• A gate motor, a generators, tools and camping chairs were stolen from a residence in Brakpan Street, Anzac.

• A home in Koot Street, Withok Estates, was burgled of a TV, jewellery, a laptop and other household items.

Tools were also stolen from the back of a bakkie parked on the property.

Sunday – A computer monitor was stolen during a break-in at a business in Denne Road, Vulcania.

• Clothing and shoes were stolen from a car parked at an address along Drakensberg Avenue in Helderwyk Estates.
