Council set to elect new mayor today

Preparations are underway to elect a new City of Ekurhuleni mayor.

Former mayor Sivuyile Ngodwana was ousted from his position on March 28 through a vote of no confidence.

An extraordinary council meeting is scheduled to take place from 10:00 today (Thursday) at the OR Tambo Government Precinct in Germiston.

The meeting was scheduled to take place last week but was postponed.
