Give a forgotten toy a second chance

All funds raised through the sale will assist the organisation in its continued home-based palliative care.

For most of us, the thought of Christmas has not even crossed our minds.

Carol Simoni, a volunteer at Hospice East Rand, and her cheerful troop of helpers are already hard at work fluffing teddies, tending to dollies and giving toy cars a spiffy polish all in preparation for the organisation’s annual Toy Fair in November.

Relying on donations from the public, the Hospice elves gently clean, mend and restore pre-loved toys to nearly new ones, hoping these will find new homes and come to life in the imagination of little boys and girls.

If you have forgotten toys gathering dust in your child’s room, why not consider donating to the cause?

The sale is set to take place on November 2 and early donations will be greatly appreciated.

For more information about the sale or to arrange collections and deliveries of donations, contact Hospice on 011 422 1531/2.
