Golden Boys Academy secures league spot
The team beat Vrrrpha National 2-0 securing their spot in Hollywood Men's Regional League.
Golden Boys Academy was promoted to the Hollywood Men’s Regional League after they won the SAFA regional playoffs.
The team, coached by Lloyiso Hlazo, dominated in a game against Vrrrpha National at Clement Stadium in Reiger Park that ended 2-0.
“This is a dream come true for the Brakpan Sports Association. In our first year of being recognised as stream B of Brakpan by SAFA, we achieved so much.
“The promotional playoffs tournament has been an interesting journey. It was a moment of self-reflection on how far we have come as a team and how far we need to go,” said Maria Makola, vice-chairperson of Brakpan Football Association and chairperson of Brakpan Central team.
She explained the team is only two years old and has shown great potential in achieving its goals.
“They got nine points in the group stages to earn the promotion status of the Hollywood Men’s Regional League 2024/25,” she said.
The date for the commencement of the league is yet to be announced.
