Heidelberg murder accused appears in court for Brakpan shooting, case postponed to December

There has been an increasing list of cases against Pyne.

Jaen-Lee Pyne (31) appeared in the Brakpan Magistrate’s Court on November 20 in connection with a shooting that took place in Brakpan on May 4.

Pyne was arrested on Monday during a court appearance in Heidelberg for a series of crimes he has been accused of committing in the area.

He will appear in the Brakpan court again on December 2, as the case was postponed for bail application.

He appeared in the Heidelberg Magistrate’s Court on Monday in connection with a case of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and malicious damage to property.

The Brakpan Herald previously reported on the May 4 shooting, which resulted in the death of one man while three others were injured. Pyne is also the accused in cases of murder and attempted murder in Heidelberg.

The July 3 shooting saw prominent local CPF members Etienne du Preez and Flip Minnaar both shot in the head. Du Preez died and Minnaar was seriously injured.

Pyne faces another charge of murder, following the discovery of a body buried in the front garden of his former residence.

The body was exhumed by police on October 30 following a tip-off.
