Boxers show their steel at championships

The Brakpan Boxing Club had four fighters compete in the Ekurhuleni Novice Championships in the Transnet Engineering venue in Pretoria from March 21 to 23.

• Donewin Martens won two fights in the 71kg category.

• JP De Villiers had a walkover (a win when the opponent does not appear in the ring or the boxer is the only available fighter in his class).

• JP Visagie won two of three matches and lost one by points in the 51kg category.

• Talitha Roos had a walkover.
